Humasis said on Monday it would take action to respond to the Embassy of India’s nullification of the agreement, which initially aimed to supply Humasis’ Covid-19 rapid antibody test kits to India.

In April 2020, Humasis agreed with the Indian embassy to supply $2.5 million worth of rapid antibody test kits. After the company completed manufacturing $250,000 worth of test devices, the Indian embassy demanded the termination of the agreement, according to Humasis.

Humasis said the nixed deal would not affect the sales of Covid-19 rapid antigen test kits, the essential product of the company.

Early this year, the company had to supply test kits to the government for the general public, which caused some delays in exports. The company coordinates the schedule to ship the products as soon as possible.

“As the demand for antigen test kits is expected to continue despite Covid-19 becoming endemic, we will do our best to prevent any disruption in supply,” an official at Humasis said.

“To respond to market changes quickly even after Covid-19, we will expand investment in on-spot testing to maintain a stable growth momentum.”
